We are writing to introduce a new monthly digest designed for state leaders who are commited to promoting international education programs and policies. The digest will keep a growing network informed about breaking news, helpful resources and innovative models. Our goal is to use analytic evidence, advocacy tools and an informed community of influential leaders to build support for needed investments in K-12 students' international knowledge and skills.

    The Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) is expected to invite applications for new State Educational Agency (SEA) awards beginning on February 11, 2005. (All dates are estimated.) These awards are for foreign language acquistion programs.
