Overview
State and national leaders in policy, business, education, and philanthropy, gathered at the annual States Institute on International Education in the Schools. The Institute was held December 7 - 9, 2005 in Washington, DC.

Governors and chief state school officers from 26 states sent leadership teams to participate in this Institute. The teams include senior policymakers from the executive and legislative branches, international studies experts, business and philanthropic leaders, and outstanding teachers and principals. Special guests include representatives of model programs, experts on trade, national security, foreign languages, and members of the National Coalition on Asia and International Studies in the Schools.
