Olympic Medal Count 2012 Chart: Brazil Sure to Get Massive Gold Medal Boost

After Friday's action at the 2012 London Olympic Games, you have to dig deep on the medal count table to find Brazil. They're currently tied for 15th among all nations with just 12 medals.
That isn't even the bad part. Eight of the 12 medals are bronze and just two are gold.
Thankfully for the Brazilians, their best shots at Olympic gold come late in the Games.
The Olympics are usually the biggest stage that these athletes will face, but that may not be the case for the athletes in their best events. The men's soccer team has been an overwhelming favorite for gold since it was revealed Neymar and Hulk, among others, would be competing. Neymar is the future face of soccer, and his best days are likely ahead at the 2014 World Cup, where he'll try to win for the home country.
Brazil faces an overmatched Mexican side in the final, and it should be smooth sailing to the country's third Olympic gold.
In one of the best matchups of the Olympics, Brazil's women's volleyball team will face the Americans Saturday for the gold medal.
Volleyball is typically Brazil's sport, and the women's team will be motivated to avenge the disappointing beach volleyball bronze for their side.
It's not just the women's team that will be playing for Olympic gold. After romping Italy in the semifinal, Brazil's men's volleyball team also has a chance to stand atop the podium as they face Russia on Sunday morning.
On top of these team events, Brazil could also win gold in boxing as Esquivo Florentino has gotten his country into a gold medal boxing bout for the first time in history. He'll face Japan's Ryota Murata in the final, whom he lost to in last year's World Boxing Championship.
