Novak Djokovic vs. Li Na: Preview and Expectations for Charity Match Exhibition

While it's unlikely that the intensity and hostility involved of that match will be seen again, a new "Battle of the Sexes" will take place on Friday between women's star Li Na and men's No. 1 Novak Djokovic.
According to the China Open's official website, the match will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the tournament. All profits will go to a Chinese youth tennis development program, according to Sun Xiaochen of ChinaDaily.com..
While the match between King and Riggs was about man vs. woman, the Li-Djokovic match is for fun. Li is a hero in China as the only Chinese woman to win a Grand Slam title in tennis. It's only natural that she will be heavily involved in the opening of the 10th China Open.
Some fans will take the match seriously, but that isn't the intention. It's an exhibition to showcase and aid tennis in China. It will still entertain fans in attendance.
Here is a closer look at what you can expect out of the Li vs. Djokovic match on Friday.
Where: Diamond Court at National Tennis Center in Beijing, China
When: Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 a.m. ET (7:30 p.m. Beijing time)
Exhibition Atmosphere
Li and Djokovic are big-time competitors, and they want to win every match, whether it counts for something or not. They're going to put in effort, but the match obviously isn't going to rival a Grand Slam clash in terms of intensity.
Even so, Li and Djokovich have exchanged some friendly banter in recent days. According to SI.com, there has been a bit of trash talk on blog site Weibo recently, which was initiated by Djokovic.
