Laporta endured a mixed second round but managed to recover from his first double bogey of the tournament and enters the weekend's action on top of the pile, bagging an impressive six birdies in Friday's outing.

Recap Some might have seen Laporta's recent joint-fourth-place finish at the Challenge de Madrid and thought the 25-year-old was capable of vying for the crown in Morocco this weekend, where he's proving to be a handful.
A third-round score of five-over par in Madrid proved to be his undoing in an otherwise glittering tournament run, and Laporta is once again showing topsy-turvy form in North Africa.
After opening Friday's outing with two birdies in his first three holes, Laporta shot a bogey on the 13th and double bogey on the 14th—having started on the back nine—bringing his score to one-over par and ruining his progress.
But he had the fortitude to bounce back and birdied four of the next six holes, including a calmly held seven-yard putt on the second, as shown by the official European Tour Twitter account:
