Jeff Overtonwas sputtering out of the gates withtwo bogeys in the first five holes.
D.A. Points teeing off almost two hours before the final twosome had stepped on the gas and passed Overton like he was standing still.
With ten birdies through 16 holes and a hybrid in his hand hitting into the reachable par-5 17th hole it looked Points' score was going to add up to 59 or better.
Sadly he missed the green and three-putted for a bogey and had to settle for a 61 posting a 15-under par score.
What was the difference for Points who has played in 145 Nationwide events winning four times yet is win-less on the PGA TOUR in 115 starts?
"It was just nice to see some putts going in. I've been hitting it pretty good for the last month or so and just haven't really been getting a lot out of it. It was nice to get some putts to drop today."
Was he thinking about shooting 59?
"I knew that I was 10-under at that point (through 16 holes), unfortunately. I wish I wouldn't have known what I was. But I knew I was 10-under and had theoretically the easiest par-5 on the golf course."
When Points finished his round he was leading the tournament.
But then Overtonshifted it into overdrive, making birdies on five of six holes in one stretch on the back nine.
"I missed some putts early, and then a whole bunch of putts kind of fell in late for me late, fortunately. It was good to see a couple putts go in."

"I didn't even really know what he was...
