The tough Czech is currently ranked at No. 7 in the world and while he gave a good run, he simply couldn't stop the world's No. 1 from storming past him.
Nadal trounced Berdych in the first set, 6-2, but Berdych came back with a thunder early in the second set, taking it to 6-3.
Of special consideration were Berdych's first set serves, which most certainly helped secure the second set for him.
In the third, the two parties initially evened off, but Nadal came outhe victor, taking the third set, 6-3.
Throughout the match, Nadal took breaks to have his neck and shoulder massaged and seemed to be having some problems with his rotator cuff or shoulder socket.
Still, he was able to power through the game, and he will face Roger Federer in the semi-finals.
