Euro 2012: Why Spain Will Repeat as Champions

As Euro 2012 begins to take shape and the rosters are formed, it looks like Spain is going to be the team to beat again. The reigning champions look to be the most powerful squad in a pool of good teams.
Although it appears Xavi will not be apart of the squad, a majority of the stars that won the 2008 title will be returning to the team. Notably, forward David Villa will return to follow up his big 2008 Euro campaign.
In looking at their preliminary pool (Pool C), Spain is joined by host countries Italy, Ireland and Croatia. The biggest threat to Spain in this pool is Italy, who in my estimation will not be able to knock off the powerhouse that is Spain.
Assuming that Spain makes it out of their pool, as I believe they will with flying colors, they will play the runner-up of Pool D. That will probably be either France or England, who are the best in their respective group.
They will run their victories all the way to the finals, where we will see them shine again. With the all-around attack that Spain brings, plus the goal scoring that guys like David Villa bring, Spain will make it to the championship and win the title again.
The only question is not if Spain will repeat as champions, but how many times will Spain repeat. That remains to be seen.
