Roger Federer: Why Tennis Star Will Fall Short of French Open Title

As usual, Roger Federer is considered a favorite. Despite this, I predict he will fall short of the prestigious French Open title.
First, it must be mentioned that Federer is ranked third by the ATP, which is a legitimate reason why people think he could win it all. In fact, he won the Mutua Madrid Open which is played on clay courts.
His success on clay courts has been well documented in 2012, as he is 8-1 on them. In that time, he has defeated four top-15 players on clay, which is extremely impressive in itself.
But, the king of clay is undoubtedly Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard has made a career off of winning on clay. This is especially true, as Nadal has won the French Open six times.This fact alone makes him the automatic favorite in my eyes.
But, his overall record on the clay surface is the real story. This year alone, Nadal has gone 16-1 on the clay courts. He has won the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell and Internazionali BNL d'Italia. Three tournament victories in a half a year is impressive for any player.
Should it come down to Federer and Nadal at any point, my money is on Nadal. Federer is obviously a gifted tennis player, but Nadal is too good on clay.
