Greenbrier Classic 2012: Tiger Woods and Stars Who Must Make Moves on Friday

That means they have plenty of work left to do on Friday to ensure they make the cut and potentially get back into contention.
Here's a look at three big-name players who didn't play well on Thursday and will therefore need good performances in the second round.
With the British Open right around the corner, building up momentum at these smaller events is key.
Jim Furyk (+1)
Furyk has been trending in the wrong direction ever since letting his final-round lead in the U.S. Open slip away. He finished 34th at last week's AT&T National and wasn't able to convert enough birdies en route to a one-over round on Thursday.
In typical Furyk fashion, he had one birdie, two bogeys and 15 pars. That's not enough at a tournament like the Greenbrier, which has an averaging winning score of 16-under over the past two years. Furyk will have to be more aggressive on Day 2.
Although it's not an event that plays to Furyk's strengths, he should still be good enough to make a charge if he can build some momentum.
He has to start early in the round, however.
Tiger Woods (+1)
Things couldn't have started much better for Woods. He was two-under through three holds and looked as though he was in fine form coming off his victory last week.
The tide quickly started to turn against him, though, highlighted by a double bogey on his eighth hole of the day.
It's really a perfect example of the double standard Woods faces. After a win, everybody expects him to come right back on and dominate again, and it just isn't possible.
If it were anybody else, it would be ignored. But for him it's a big deal.
