MLS and USMNT on NBC: 3-Year Deal to Begin in 2012

On Wednesday, MLS and the NBC Sports Group announced a three-year deal between the two sides, set to begin in 2012.   The deal will see a total of 45 MLS games and four U.S. Men’s National Team games shown each season.  Most of those games will be seen on Versus (which is set to be changed to NBC Sports in January 2012), however, NBC will be airing several games for both the USMNT and... 


World Cup Draw 2014: Are the United States Winners or Losers?

On Saturday, July 30, the preliminary World Cup draw took place in Rio De Janeiro. For CONCACAF, this was the draw for the second round of qualifying. There were 30 remaining CONCACAF nations, and the six top-ranked teams get to skip the second round of qualifying.  According to the FIFA World Rankings, the top six squads in the region are the U.S., Mexico, Honduras, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Cuba....

On Saturday, July 30th, the preliminary World Cup draw took place in Rio de Janeiro. For some qualifying regions, this was a drawing for an early part of qualification.  But in UEFA, it is the final draw.  Nine groups were drawn from six pots. Eight of these groups have six teams while one group only has five teams.   I thought it would be interesting to look at each team’s FIFA...
