Vitaly Petrov drove a fine race to finish on the podium in Australia, beating world-class veterans such as Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber and Jenson Button. Robert Kubica has sustained injuries whilst taking part in the Ronde di Andorra rally, leaving his Formula One future in doubt. The Pole has been diagnosed with multiple fractures to his right arm, leg and hand after a high-speed crash in his Skoda Fabia. His co-driver was unhurt in the accident. Formula one cars are set to undergo the most radical design changes since 1983 in an effort to make the sport more entertaining.
