BMW Championship 2013: Final Day Leaderboard Analysis, Highlights and More

The 37-year-old American had notched five top-10 finishes in his last six tournaments, but he fired a six-under 65 on Monday to win the BMW Championship and earn his first victory of the year.
Johnson was locked with Nick Watney, who carded a low round of 64, and Jim Furyk, who shot a historic 59 on Friday, on the back nine. But he buried a 19-foot putt from the first cut on No. 16 to put him a stroke ahead.
He then birdied 17 and parred 18 to move to 16-under for the tournament, comfortably ahead of Watney, who finished second at 14-under. Watney skyrocketed from 34th to 12th in the FedEx Cup standings after a weekend of exceptional play.
Furyk struggled on the back nine at Conway Farms on Monday, dropping to 13-under and a third-place finish.

Of course, the BMW Championship is just the final gateway tournament for the TOUR Championship, with the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings advancing to East Lake to play in the closing tournament of the playoffs.

Tiger Woods was even for the round, but he still finished in a tie for 11th at nine-under and will enter East Lake as the No. 1 seed overall.
Henrik Stenson, meanwhile, who won the Deutsche Bank Championship two weeks ago, struggled to a three-over 74 that featured a bogey on 17, a double bogey on 18 and a broken driver (h/t Yahoo! Sports' Shane Bacon):
Nevertheless, he will still head to East Lake at No. 2 in the standings on the strength of a brilliant past two months.
