Martin Kaymer Views on the 2010 Ryder Cup Course

This week is the Wales Open, and the players will be using the course that will be seen by a worldwide audience come October.
When Kaymer first played on the course back in 2008, he was not a huge fan of it. However, the recent changes that have been made to the course have changed his opinion.
Kaymer believes that the course has been made a lot harder, which he enjoys.
“They changed it a little bit," says Kaymer. "It’s very long, which I like. You’ll have to hit your long irons very precise. You’ll have a lot of long irons into the greens, especially on the back nine, 16, and 17, they are long holes, and I really like that if you make it difficult. And it is definitely a difficult golf course”.
With the Ryder Cup returning here in October, Kaymer definitely wants to be on the-12 man team.
“That’s the goal," he says. "I really hope I can make it back again. I think I had a good start this year with my win in Abu Dhabi and the World Golf Championship Event in Doral, I played well there. I put myself in a good position," says Kaymer. "I just have to keep playing well now.”
When it comes to the Ryder Cup in October, Kaymer hopes that there will be nothing but bad weather at the tournament. He observes, “I like to play in bad weather and I think it would be an advantage for the European players, too.”
While Kaymer is hoping to be there in October, he has to contend with a very busy summer schedule of golf on the European Tour. He plans to play in five tournaments over the next five weeks.
He wants to play the US Open, Munich, Loch Lomond, the French Open, and the Open Championship.
