Tiger Barely Makes Field at Chevron

That was a close one.
It would have been awfully embarrassing if the Chevron tournament committee had passed over the host of their tournament for another golfer. Especially when that host is 14-time major champion Tiger Woods.
He expressed gratitude to tournament officials for giving him an exemption into the event, where Woods will end his second consecutive disappointing season.
However, before he heads to California for the Chevron, he will venture down under to play in the Australian Open, which is coincidentally the last tournament he won.
"I'm really looking forward to going down to Australia and playing because now I have that feeling of playing again, not just hitting ball after ball after ball on the range," Woods said.
Following the Australian Open, Woods will make the short trip to Melbourne, where he will play for the United States in the Presidents Cup as a captain's pick.
