Portugal vs. Turkey: Ronaldo Will Prove Too Much for Turkish Defense to Handle

The Portuguese will be looking for only their second victory in five matches; they have been held scoreless in three of the previous four matches. Which means that Ronaldo is due for a big game.
Portugal's final European Championship qualifier, a 6-2 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina, was fueled by the play of Ronaldo up front. He netted two goals in the victory, scoring the team's first goal in the eighth minute and third goal in the 53rd minute.
Not to mention he was a part of nearly every goal-scoring opportunity the team had throughout the contest.
Ronaldo and Helder Postiga have proven to be too much to handle, and the two will prove so again against Turkey in this international friendly prior to the 2012 European Championship.
Turkey has gone just 2-2-1 in its last five matches, boasting wins over mediocre opponents in Bulgaria and Georgia. The streak includes losses against Finland and Slovakia, all the more reason a significantly more lethal Portugal will undoubtedly handle this team.
Portugal, meanwhile, boasts the worse record of late. The team is just 1-1-3 in its last five matches. However, they have won nine of their last 15 contests.
With 36 goals in those 15 outings, there is no question that the Seleccao have the upper hand up front. With Ronaldo leading the pack, there is no question this will be a difficult attack to compete with for Turkey.
Expect the defense to have a nightmare of a friendly against an especially strong Portuguese side. Ronaldo has made a name for himself with his goal-scoring and will continue to put in goals in this contest.
