Serena Williams Beats Maria Sharapova to Win 2013 French Open Title

Though Sharapova put up a great fight all day, her opponent won more of the important points and displayed the more dominating presence. She should look at these two weeks in a positive fashion, as she made back-to-back French Open finals.
Her Wimbledon chances are very good and her chances of beating Serena on grass are much higher due to the way that she plays, hits the ball and moves.
Serena Williams won just her second French Open title and Coupe de Mousquetaires Trophy since beating her sister, Venus, back in 2002.
She will certainly be pleased with this result but will not dwell on the victory for too long. She has to look to defend her Wimbledon title as well.
The men's final, featuring seven-time champion, Rafael Nadal, and first-time Major finalist, David Ferrer, can be seen live on NBC at 9 a.m. (ET) on Sunday.
