2012 PGA Championship: TNT and CBS Are Ready for an Epic Broadcast

For TNT, the on-air broadcast team will be headed by host Ernie Johnson (play-by-play), Ian Baker-Finch (analyst), Billy Kratzert (analyst) and Vince Cellini will handle all the interviews for the Championship.This the 22nd year that TNT has covered the PGA Championship, and they will be the cable home of the event for all four rounds.
For CBS, the broadcast team is led by Jim Nantz, along with Sir Nick Faldo, who will join the TNT team on Thursday and Friday. The two networks will both have broadcasters who will do double duty throughout day one and two of the coverage.
As for Saturday and Sunday, Nantz and Faldo will be joined by their regular team of Peter Oosterhuis, Verne Lundquist and David Feherty. Also on the coverage will be Bill Macatee, Peter Kostis and Ian Baker-Finch.
In conversation earlier today with Barrow via phone conference, he told me that CBS would be feeding the telecast to over 300 countries worldwide.
As always, Feherty was good for a fun quote: “Because of the intense winds you get when you play at the Ocean Course a player wants to keep the ball low just like you would on any links course. However, this is not a traditional links course because the greens are elevated so that really causes plenty of headaches. Let me say this I am just glad that I am not playing that course this week.”
