Bubba Watson Says He’ll Remove Confederate Flag from His ‘General Lee’ Car

The two-time Masters champion, who owns one of the famous General Lee cars from the popular Dukes of Hazzard television show, revealed Thursday on Twitter that he intends to paint over the Confederate flag that adorns the car's roof:
According to ESPN.com, the 36-year-old native of Bagdad, Florida, bought the recognizable car for $110,000 at auction. USA Today's FTW (h/t David Nelson of KWQC-TV) provided a photo of the vehicle prior to the impending makeover:
While the Confederate flag has long been a hot-button issue in the United States, it recently came to the forefront following a shooting at a Charleston, South Carolina, church.
Although the debate promises to wage on, Watson's decision to alter an iconic piece of television history is undoubtedly a strong statement.
