Forget Woods, Mickelson, Watson: What About 16 Year Old Manassero

But, that's not all it's known for.
It is also the home of 16 year old golf phenom Metteo Manassero.
It was 1993 when German Bernhard Langer won his second Masters but it was also the year Manassero was born.
Last year, at the age of 16, he set a record by becoming the youngest winner of the British Amateur Championship in its 124-year history. He didn't only break the record—he shattered it by two years. Monassero broke another record this week by becoming the youngest player ever to earn a spot at the Masters.

He's full of confidence and it shows in his performance the past two days.
He's the only amateur to make the cut, shooting a 71 on Thursday and a 76 on Friday.
It's a huge accomplishment to even earn a spot at the Masters, but to actually make the cut at that age is unbelievable.
"I played all day good, every shot," Manassero said when asked about his first round.
"He's got a big future. You have to pinch yourself and remind yourself that he's only 16," said current leader, Lee Westwood, who was paired with the 16-year-old for the first round. "Got a very mature game. There's not that many weaknesses in his game."
The question I ask is how good will Monassero be? He clearly has so much raw talent and at the age of 16 he has years to truly perfect his game.
During the 2009 British Open, Tom Watson was paired with Monassero for two rounds.
"I can't predict how good he will be, but the snapshot right now looks really good," Watson said to the New York Times about the 44 years younger Monassero.
