Lee Westwood Video: Watch Golfer Whiff on Shot at the Players Championship

And not in a good way.
With his ball off the grass completely and near a tree on hole No. 1, Westwood geared up for a shot he's likely taken—and hit successfully—thousands of times. Aiming to just get it back in the fairway, he took out an iron from his bag and wedged his body in between the hole and the tree.
What followed will make Westwood the butt of every joke at the next PGA Tour luncheon.
After a nice backswing, Westwood's club struck the tree on the way down, causing him to miss the ball completely in front of the fans and his pairing at TPC Sawgrass. Kyle Porter of CBS had an excellent slow-motion look at the swing on Twitter:

Jason Sobel of the Golf Channel made sure his followers didn't get a big head watching the miss:
