Tiger Woods Considered US Open Favorite Following Masters Performance

According to Bovada, via Kyle Porter of CBSSports.com, Woods opens up as a 9/2 favorite to win.
This year's U.S. Open is being held at the Merion Golf Club, East Course, in Ardmore, Pa., from June 10 to June 16. This will be the fifth time this tournament has been held at the historic course—the last time being in 1981, when Australian golfer David Graham won the event.
The 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines was the last major tournament Woods won. He has tallied eight top-six finishes since then, but his 15th major win has eluded him.
Given the way Woods has played thus far in 2013, it should be no surprise that he's being considered as the favorite this year.
Before his fourth-place finish at Augusta National, Woods had won three of the five tournaments he entered on the PGA Tour thus far in 2013—two more than any other golfer in the world.
And if not for the two-stroke penalty he suffered due to an illegal drop on hole No. 15 during the second round of the Masters, Woods would have been just two strokes off the leaders.
Simply put, Woods is playing brilliantly of late, re-claiming the No. 1 spot atop the Official World Golf Rankings and looking more and more like the player who dominated the men's tour before his fall from grace.
As long as he continues to play as he has this season, Woods will likely be the favorite to win all three remaining major championships in 2013.
