Tiger Woods Moves into Contention Friday With 66 in Dubai

Starting on the day on the back nine, the world’s No. 3 made three birdies to turn in 34 shots, the same as yesterday. This morning Tiger was five shots better on the first nine holes of the course, compared to the first round, making no mistakes but three more birdies.
Woods finished on seven under par, same score as overnight leader Rory McIlroy started the day on. Nevertheless, Woods—a winner here in 2006 and 2008—did put himself in a good position before "Moving Day" on Saturday.
A win in Dubai won’t putt Woods back at the top spot in the world, but he can advance to second spot with a victory if Martin Kaymer is outside the top five after Sunday's finale.
World No. 1 Lee Westwood shot 70 to trail Tiger with two shots. Kaymer lost a bit of momentum and came in on four under par after a round of 71.
