Women’s PGA Championship 2015: Friday Leaderboard Scores and LPGA Highlights

The women take center stage on the golf course this weekend with the second major tournament of 2015 taking place at Westchester Country Club.

Inbee Park is the defending champion at the Women's PGA Championship and remains squarely in the mix after the second round at seven-under par, but everyone is looking up at Sei Young Kim after her 68 on Friday. 

Here's how the top of the leaderboard following Friday's second round looks:

After six players were able to break 70 on Thursday, scores were much higher during the second round. Only three players reached 69 or lower, and the leaderboard remains a jumbled mess heading into the weekend, which is good for drama. 

This is a long course at 6,670 yards with a large par total of 73, so it was going to be difficult for players to keep putting up low scores over four rounds. 

Karrie Webb had one of the best rounds of the day with a two-under 71 to enter the third round at seven-under par. She started the day as the veteran of the leaderboard, as Kelly Tilghman of the Golf Channel noted on Twitter:



While Webb's competition after Thursday, like Brooke Mackenzie Henderson and Jenny Shin, failed to keep up their pace, the 40-year-old is thriving. She hasn't won a major since 2006 but did finish second at the Evian Championship last September.

Another player seeking a major title after a long drought, though not quite as long as Webb's, is Stacy Lewis. Her last Grand Slam tournament victory was the 2013 British Open, and she is just three shots off the pace following a 71.
