Despite the lack of goals, tempers flared early and often between these two foes and they left us with plenty to talk about. A dual sending off in the 25th minute saw Gonzalo Higuain and Cristian Zapata both receive red cards.
Argentina remains five points ahead of the second-place Colombia in the CONMEBOL table. The two teams will each walk away with one point each from the match, but what unfolded on the pitch will carry over to each squad's upcoming matches.

Messi Won't Always Save the Day
It was no surprise that Argentina star Lionel Messi wasn't in the starting XI as he continues to distance himself from a hamstring pull in April, but that didn't stop the Argentinians from turning to him in the last half hour with the game on the line.
Unfortunately for Messi's side, it didn't pay off with a game-winner.
Don't get me wrong, it's awfully tough to make an impact on the match when both sides are reduced to 10 men and you're thrown into the fire awfully late in the match. But it was certainly a wake-up call for Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella.
Having arguably the greatest player in the world on your team can be a blessing and a curse. While you almost always have the most talented soccer player on the pitch, the game-plan can become a bit dependent if you're turning to that guy late in matches and he doesn't deliver.
