Is Nottingham Forest the Right Club at the Right Time For Robbie Findley?

Findley was in the stands at the City Ground on Saturday to watch his new mates stage a dramatic come-from-behind victory against hapless Pompey, who now find themselves a mere five points clear of facing a second consecutive drop.
However, news of Findley's English adventure has caused less than even a slight ripple in soccer circles state-side, despite Findley playing a key part in the U.S.' initial World Cup squad this summer.
I've made no mistake in voicing my displeasure that the generally mediocre Findley is one of the U.S.' top strikers, but that's not to say I'm not open to giving the guy a fighting chance. He is only 25 after all, and unless Christ decides to come back and declare himself for the Stars and Stripes in Brazil '14, Findley's likely to be a key player up top for us again.
Findley has been a solid piece of Real Salt Lake's recent ascent in Major League Soccer, tallying 12 goals in their 2009 championship season and a respectable six in the most recent campaign. In perhaps a telling indictment of his on-field impact, however, RSL decided not to renew Findley's contract this off-season.
He was picked up by the Portland Timbers in the expansion draft, presumably with an eye to his eventual return to MLS should things not work out with Forest.
But that finally brings us to the crux of the issue: will things work out for Robbie in Nottingham?
Forest currently have at least five legitimate Championship-quality strikers on the books, and a couple of midfielders who have an eye for goal—the most prominent of which being their impressive young midfielder and top goalscorer this term Lewis McGugan.
