The Portuguese managed to score four against minnows Cyprus—and still not win the match. Conceding four goals in a match is bad enough, but, with due respect to Cyprus, conceding them against such teams does not speak much about a top team at all. They then lost 1-0 away to Norway, another disappointing result.

To say that they lack the prerequisite quality would be wrong. They possess, in Cristiano Ronaldo, the most skillful player in the world.
