An exchange of penalties kept the lead at 20 points at half-time, and two more kicks were split after the resumption, before Faletau struck.
Liam Williams' pulsating run down the touchline made it, but Faletau's supporting run made it possible.
It settled the contest, and the rest was about damage limitation for the Pumas.
When Owens crossed for his first Wales try, it became apparent the Welsh would finish in style.
Wales are back in action on Friday night against Tonga, before their autumn concludes in a fortnight with a showdown against Australia in Cardiff.
