BMW Open 2013: Predicting the Winner in the Men’s Singles Final

This will be the first All-German match at the BMW Open in 48 years, according to ESPN. With the event being held in Munich, it just seems fitting.
Predicting the winner is tricky, since these two are evenly matched. Taking a look at the advantages and disadvantages of both will help determine who can pull out the win on Sunday.
Tommy Haas
Advantages
Things started slowly for Haas this year, but there’s a lot to like about him heading into the final match.
Back in March, Haas was able to beat Novak Djokovic, the world No. 1, in straight sets. It was the first time Haas was able to beat a No. 1 player since 1999.
Haas is still looking good, especially after the semifinals. He was able to beat Ivan Dodig, 6-4, 6-3, on Saturday and seemed to have little trouble.
Disadvantages
The slow start this year is still a little concerning for Haas. Losing in the first round of the 2013 Australian Open definitely brought up some questions.
Age is also becoming a concern for Haas. At 35 years old, who knows how long Haas can continue to play at a competitive level.
Philipp Kohlschreiber
Advantages
Being the defending champion at Munich certainly gives Kohlschreiber the advantage in confidence, as he’s already proven he can win here, with his last win coming back in 2007. At 29, he is also pretty significantly younger than Haas, and that could make a difference in a longer match.
Disadvantages
Kohlschreiber had a tougher time in his semifinal match. He battled from a break down in the final set, beating Daniel Brands.
