Federer’s Grass Court Preparation: The Ideal Choice

Roger Federer, among all of his success, has stated that the grass season is his favorite time of the tennis year. That is proven by his six Wimbledon titles in the last seven years. Addition to that, he has 11 grass court titles, the most of any player.
Federer's warm-up tournament is in Halle, Germany. This is an ideal choice for Federer.
First of all, the other warm-up event is the Queen's Club, which is by far more competitive, usually consisting of 5-10 top 15 players in the world.
So why not increase your chances of winning more titles, have the same points as winning queens, and having more match play?
Federer has won 11 titles, and five of them were from Halle. Queen's and Halle both award 250 points to the winner. Federer earns an easy 250 points, but the other players at Queen's battle it out, almost at the intensity at playing in Wimbledon.
By winning Halle, Federer has had more matches under his belt, instead of perhaps losing to someone at Queen's. This is also a good mental approach. The King of Grass would feel more threatened against a player who had recently beaten him at Queen's.
The vanquisher of Federer at Queen's would have confidence to take down Federer at his home turf a la Federer 2001.
This is why Federer's continued success at Wimbledon is long-lived, and will be for many years to come.
