French Open 2013: Predicting Winners of Finals Matchups

The favorites of both matchups are pretty clear. Williams is playing great tennis and she has had enormous success against Sharapova.
Nadal looks to be playing at an elite level again and he has owned Ferrer in their careers. While some may be hoping for riveting and competitive finals, it is hard to see either underdog putting up much of a fight.
Serena Will Again Dominate Sharapova
Winning the 2012 French Open and reaching the final again this year will have to be enough for Sharapova. The 26-year-old Russian has had the hardest time with the world's No. 1 player and Saturday will be no different.
Williams will run her record against Sharapova to 14-2 overall and 4-1 in Grand Slam events on Saturday. Sharapova struggled a bit in her last two matches, and that doesn't bode well for her in the final.
She was extended to three sets by Jelena Jankovic in the quarterfinals and understandably pushed by Victoria Azarenka in the semifinals. Sharapova appears to be playing well, but she's not at her best. It would be hard to think that she would go into this match against her nemesis with a ton of confidence.
Williams just destroyed Sara Errani 6-0. 6-1 and she has looked more dominant on clay than she ever has in this tournament.
I'd be surprised if this match sees a third set and shocked if Sharapova pulls the upset. Look for Serena to grab her second French Open title and 16th Grand Slam title on Saturday.

Make no mistake, the real men's final took place on Friday when Nadal outlasted world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in a five-set classic 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-7 (3-7), 9-7.
