Novak Djokovic Will Power Past Guido Pella in 2nd Round at 2013 French Open

The world No. 1 look superb in his opening-match win over David Goffin on Tuesday. The unseeded Pella, meanwhile, is coming off an epic five sets against Ivan Dodig, winning 12-10 in the fifth and final set.
Though the 23-year-old Argentine will have plenty of time to recover for the second round, he's in uncharted territory, having never won at a Grand Slam before Tuesday. That's not to say he doesn't know how to win, but the percentages are stacked against him.
All indications are that Round 2 will be smooth sailing for six-time major champion Djokovic.
A finalist at Roland Garros a year ago, Djokovic is out to win his first-ever Slam championship in Paris, where a title at this point in his career would ensure that he goes down in history books as one of the all-time greats.
Beyond the motivation, Djokovic is simply playing exceptional tennis to start the tournament. Any opening-match nerves that existed before Tuesday seem all but gone.
The 26-year-old Serb committed just 31 unforced errors total in his straight-sets win over the Belgian Goffin. The fact that Djokovic isn't going to beat himself is critical moving forward, and says a lot about his opponents' chances.
Djokovic's first round showed that he's good enough to win even when he only records five aces and wins just 3-of-11 break points, and he's talented enough to do it in straight sets.
That level of play obviously won't get him past the likes Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer down the road, but it's more than enough to survive and advance against unseeded challengers in the early rounds.
