Roger Federer in the Rearview, Berdych Ahead for Robin Soderling At French Open

Now that that's out of the way, we can get down to the business of breaking down a potentially juicy match—up between the 6'4" Swede, Robin Soderling, and the 6'5" Czech, Tomas Berdych.
Soderling has the bigger name. He has more buzz around him. Ever since he put an end to Rafael Nadal's ridiculous French Open win streak he's been a high profile player.
Yesterday the Swede legitimized himself as a true blue, top ten threat to win anything he enters.
He is one of only two active players to have beaten both the Federer and Nadal at a Major (Juan Martin Del Potro is the other ). Even more astounding is the fact that he's been able to end two of the sport's greatest streaks, as he also ended Federer's streak of consecutive Grand Slam semifinal appearances at 23.
Soderling showed the world that it is indeed possible to win by pure, brute force alone. He bullied Roger Federer off of the court, and he did it in heavy conditions. He accomplished what was once thought impossible .
So here we are, Soderling has a chance to reach his second consecutive French Open Final. Standing in his way is a man many will not give much of a chance, but I know better.
Tomas Berdych won the Tennis Master's event in Paris back in 2005, a year after defeating a nearly unbeatable Federer at the Olympic Games in Athens.
He reached the top ten soon after. Berdych was touted as one the young guys who would compete with the likes of Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, and Murray. Sometimes the best laid plans fall flat.
