Wimbledon Tennis Betting: Djokovic, Williams Favorites on Tournament Odds

Djokovic, the top-ranked men’s player in the world, is 5-4 to win his third career Wimbledon title at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark, while Kvitova is the 7-2 second choice on the women’s side to win her third as well, with both also previously taking home the title in 2011.
The overall favorite to win the women's title, though, is American Serena Williams at 7-4 odds despite the fact she lost to Kvitova in the third round of last year’s tournament.
Williams is a five-time Wimbledon women’s singles champion (last winning in 2012) and was the only player to take a set against Kvitova in 2014 before falling 7-5, 6-7, 5-7.
The women's singles draw figures to be a lot more competitive than the men's with eight players at 20-1 or better to win Wimbledon. Other top contenders include Maria Sharapova (7-1), Victoria Azarenka (9-1), Simona Halep (12-1), Lucie Safarova (20-1), Madison Keys (20-1) and Sabine Lisicki (20-1).
Of that group, Sharapova is the only one who has won the championship (2004), also appearing in the 2011 final against Kvitova, while Lisicki made it to the championship match in 2013 before losing to Marion Bartoli.
Meanwhile, Andy Murray became the first British man to win the Wimbledon men's singles title in 77 years when he upset Djokovic in 2013, and he is the 11-4 second choice in 2015.
Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in an epic five-set championship match in 2014, two years after Federer beat Murray for the title. Federer is a seven-time Wimbledon singles champion and 6-1 to win it for an eighth time this year followed by Rafael Nadal (10-1), Stan Wawrinka (14-1) and Grigor Dimitrov (20-1).
